I am Principal Mechanical Engineer working in the space\/optical comms domain with my BEng in Product Design Engineering and over 18 years of combined experience in 3D modelling and solid product design and development. My skills include:<\/p>

– Thermal and mechanical analysis (Ansys)
– Concept\/Detail design (Solidworks\/Creo – drawings are generated in accordance with BS8888
– Stray light analysis (FRED and Zemax)
– Optical designs and optimisation (Zemax)
– Prototype build and procurement
– design for manufacture (including material\/adhesive selection, manufacturing method (CNC, casting etc))<\/p>

I have many years of experience in 3D design, 3D simulation, rapid prototyping, product development, and manufacturing that allow me to provide my clients with unique insights, recommendations, and expertise to help their projects succeed. I work primarily in SolidWorks and produce 2D engineering drawings in accordance with the latest BS8888 standards however I am familiar with ASME Y14.5. In addition to my engineering experience, I have also been through the trenches with my own startup bringing my own original product designs from a simple idea to a full line of mass produced products brought to market.<\/p>

I also have a Post Graduate Degree in Optical Science which enables me to offer optical design and analysis services in conjunction with mechanical design aspects.<\/p>

There is no limit in what I help you create from a single piece part to complex multi-part assemblies.<\/p>
